My Monday Routine (cancion de la semana)
I struggle with Monday routine. I have activities, and I know what I want to do, but I just can't get it in an order that makes me happy. On Monday’s I: Introduce the Special Person of the Week Introduce the Song of the Week Have a small reading on the board as a bellringer Most of my problems are focused on the Song of the Week. If I just played the song, the students didn’t really get into it so I made handouts with the song lyrics, a paragraph about the artist and/or song

Traveling to Costa Rica
I LOVE Costa Rica! It is my happy place and I go back whenever I can. I also take students every other year and this page is handy place to keep all the information. For a list of what I, personally, pack, click here: https://www.cyberproferesources.com/blog/travel Click here for a suggested Costa Rica packing list - plus itinerary that I have put together. It takes forever to go through each one, write notes, and make corrections, even if I’m only focusing on a few items, and then it is highly discouraging when I see them take those papers that I worked so hard on and instantly ball t

Desafío de Conversación
I love doing Conversation Challenges and most of my students like it as well. It's a quick and easy way to gauge your students understanding of the topic you are teaching or just how they are learning their second language in general. At the start of class on Monday, I use ClassDojo to put them in random groups of 2. If I have an odd number, the odd person gets to sit out or join a group - their choice. Then they have 60 seconds (ish) to come up with a conversation. I have

Traveling with World Strides to Costa Rica
These are my thoughts on the 10 day tour of Costa Rica I took my students on called The Grand Tour. 7 minute video recap of trip: https://youtu.be/puIKKno8j4U Things I wish I had known The students share a bed (was a complete surprise to me and my students!) Towels were provided for Tortuguero and the Hot Springs at Arenal It cost $1 to use the bathroom for Tortuguero and on the Crocodile bridge The bus is small and cramped (apparently this is luck of the draw) Need lots a
